Environmental Education Programme
Bana ba Bobirwa
Bana ba Bobirwa means ‘Children of Bobirwa.’ The 6 rural villages bordering the Northern Tuli Game Reserve are directly exposed to nature. Many children aren’t aware of the significance of preserving these environments. Bana ba Bobirwa changes that.
‘If children grow up not knowing about nature and appreciating it, they will not understand it, and if they don’t understand it, they won’t protect it, and if they don’t protect it, who will?”
– Sir David Attenborough
Environmental Education Programme
Bana ba Bobirwa is an environmental education programme that teaches children in the Bobirwa district about the importance of conserving wildlife and conservation.
Motivated young environmentalists
To create motivated young environmentalists who ensure that Botswana’s natural heritage is sustained and protected.
Teach Life Skills
To teach the children life skills which are not taught in the typical Botswana school curriculum and which they can utilise on a day-to-day basis.
Inspiring Future Leaders
To expose village children to the Northern Tuli Game Reserve, inspiring them to become leaders of a workforce in the wildlife, conservation and tourism arenas.
Empower Children
To broaden the outlook of the children and empower them to be confident outside of the traditional academic environment. Children who are not academic achievers get the opportunity to excel in other areas.
